Its very rare that we get excited about simple white boots here at Goals and Gear, but Puma’s latest incarnation of their iconic ‘King’ silo mixes classic colours with fresh, bright tones in the White/Black/Ocean colourway.
To say I was excited when I opened up this box is a massive understatement, the King SL has been a boot I’ve wanted to test ever since Thierry Henry returned to Arsenal and scored an absolute cracker on his debut in a pair. The SG Pro soleplate sees a huge change in Nike’s soleplate for the soft ground market, which previously featured a fairly regular 6 stud configuration. The radical re-design is steeped in player-history, which might seem odd seeing as this is the first public release boot with the soleplate on, but for the past few seasons the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr have been wearing boots with this soleplate on, as per their own personal requirements
